Coeffy Terms of Use

1. Who we are

Coeffy is provided by MavenWright (“we”, “us”), based in Istanbul, Türkiye. You can reach us at [email protected].

2. What Coeffy is

Coeffy is an assistant that works with your own licensed installation of IBM SPSS Statistics on your own computer. It suggests statistical tests, checks their assumptions, starts analyses in your SPSS (or opens the syntax for you to run) and explains the output. The explanations are generated by an AI model through our service.

Coeffy does not include IBM SPSS Statistics and does not sell or sublicense it. You need a valid SPSS license and must follow its terms. IBM SPSS Statistics is a registered trademark of IBM Corp. Coeffy is not affiliated with IBM.

3. Your account

You need an account to use Coeffy. You can create one with an email address and password, or with Google or Apple. You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian where the law allows.

Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. One account is for one person.

4. Your research and academic integrity

You are responsible for your data, for the analyses you choose to run and for anything you submit as your own work. Coeffy explains; it does not replace your judgment, your supervisor or your institution's rules.

You may not use Coeffy to produce analyses, reports, theses or other academic work for other people, whether for payment or not, or to present work as someone else's. Follow your institution's rules on AI use. The AI-use statement Coeffy prepares is a starting point: check it before you use it.

5. The data you analyze

Your data files stay on your computer. Only the information described in the privacy notice is sent to the AI: variable names and labels, result tables with small counts hidden, and your messages.

You must have the right to process the data you open in SPSS, for example ethics approval and participants' consent. Do not open data you are not allowed to process. For the data you analyze, you remain the data controller.

6. Credits, plans and prices

One credit is used for each analysis that runs in your SPSS. If an analysis fails, its credit is returned. Choosing tests, asking about output and getting explanations do not use credits but are subject to a daily fair-use limit.

• Trial: 5 credits, once per account and per computer, added at your first sign-in to the app after your email is verified. Trial credits do not expire.
• Monthly subscription: 50 credits for each paid month. They stay valid until 3 days after the end of that paid period and do not roll over.
• 6-month plan: 250 credits for a one-off payment, valid for 6 months. It does not renew automatically.
• Top-up: 100 credits for a one-off payment, valid for 6 months from purchase. It can be bought only while you have an active monthly or 6-month plan.
• Prices depend on the country you are in and are shown on mavenwright.com or in the app before you pay. We may change prices for future purchases; a change never affects credits you have already bought.

7. Payment

Purchases are made on mavenwright.com or in the app, on a checkout page run by Polar Software, Inc., our merchant of record. Polar is the seller of record: it processes your payment, issues your receipt and handles sales tax or VAT. Polar's terms apply to the payment itself.

8. Cancelling a subscription

You can cancel the monthly subscription at any time from “Manage subscription” in the app. It then does not renew, and credits from the current paid period stay usable until they expire. Refunds are covered by the refund policy.

9. Fair and lawful use

You agree not to:

• try to get around credit limits, the trial rules or the fair-use limit, for example by opening several accounts;
• use Coeffy to break the law, to infringe others' rights or to process data you have no right to process;
• interfere with the service, probe it for weaknesses, or reverse engineer the app except where the law allows;
• resell access to Coeffy or offer it to others as a service.

10. AI answers

The numbers in your results come from your SPSS. The explanations come from an AI model and can be wrong or incomplete. Check them against your output and your course materials before you rely on them.

11. Changes and availability

We keep improving Coeffy and may change or remove features. We aim to keep the service available but cannot promise it will be uninterrupted. If we change these terms in a way that matters to you, we will tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.

12. Liability

Coeffy is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses or for decisions you make based on AI explanations. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under Law No. 6502 on Consumer Protection or other mandatory law.

13. Closing your account

You can ask us to close your account at any time by writing to [email protected]. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms; if we do, we will tell you why.

14. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Consumers may apply to the consumer arbitration committees (Tüketici Hakem Heyetleri) and consumer courts within the limits set by law. Otherwise, the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul have jurisdiction.
