Direct-connect machines
Send a design from StitchKit to your embroidery machine without a USB stick. USB cable, AirDrop, email, or iCloud share — pick what fits your setup.
Send dialog
File → Send to Machine… opens the share sheet:
- USB write — plug a USB stick into the Mac, the dialog shows the stick. Pick it, click Write — design lands in the machine-readable folder structure (Brother /embf/, Janome /JEF/, etc.).
- AirDrop — send to a nearby Mac/iPad/iPhone (e.g. another studio device).
- Email — opens your default mail client with the design attached.
- iCloud share — generates a share link.
USB brand support (Phase 1)
| Brand | USB write | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Brother | ✅ | PES + multi-hoop |
| Janome | ✅ | JEF + JEF+ thumbnail |
| Husqvarna/Viking | ✅ | VP3 + HUS |
| Pfaff | ✅ | VIP + VP3 |
| Bernina | ✅ | EXP + condensed |
| Singer | ✅ | XXX |
| Tajima | ✅ | DST |
| Generic / DST | ✅ | Universal fallback |
The USB writer creates the right folder layout for each brand automatically.
WiFi / direct connect (Phase 2)
Direct WiFi connection (mySewnet for Husqvarna, Brother PR Network, Bernina B-Link) is on the roadmap as a partner integration. For now, USB or share-sheet is the supported path.
Profile-first
Each machine you've used gets saved as a profile. Profiles remember the brand, the preferred output format, and the last USB stick you used. Pick the profile, the rest is preset.

| Tier | Machine profiles |

If you run a multi-machine studio, Pro/Ultimate keeps the per-machine settings separate.
